Prof. Cheng Yang graduated from Nanjing University (Bachelor, 2002), the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (PhD, 2007), and is a tenured Associate Professor at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School at present. His research group focuses on the methodology studies of manipulating functional nanostructures under non-equilibrium thermodynamics conditions, which shed light on the innovations of metal anodes for batteries, electrocatalytic electrodes, sensors, and device packages etc.
He has published more than 100 professional papers, including Chem Rev, Nat Commun, Angew Chem, Adv Mater, Energy Environ Sci. etc., owns more than 60 invention patents granted in China and the United States, and has 6 transferred techniques. He has won the China Invention and Innovation Award (1st prize), High-end Expert Award Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Guangdong Science Fund for Outstanding Youth, Guangdong Youth Science and Technology Award and other honors.
