Duncan is a Professor in Statistics at the University of Glasgow, and has been working in Spatio-temporal epidemiology for nearly 20 years. His research interests are in developing novel methodology and accompanying software for spatio-temporal epidemiological applications, focusing on risk estimation, boundary and cluster identification, health inequalities and the effects of air pollution. Duncan has around 80 publications in these areas, numerous funded projects, and is the author of the popular CARBayes and CARBayesST R packages. Additionally, he is a member of the UK Government scientific advisory Committee on the Medical Effects of Air Pollutants, as well as a member of the Scottish Government’s Cleaner Air for Scotland health effects working group.
