Professor Jing-Jong Shyue was the silver medalist of 25th International Chemistry Olympiad in 1993 and received the B.S. degree from the Department of Chemistry, National Taiwan University in 1997.
After two-year mandatory military service in National Defense Medical Center, he went to the Department of Materials Science and Engineer in Case Western Reserve University in 2000 and earned the M.S. and Ph.D. degree in 2002 and 2004, respective. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at the Research Center for Applied Sciences in Academia Sinica and a Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in National Taiwan University. His research focuses on surface and interface sciences, such as the effect of surface properties on cell adhesion processes and molecular transportation, the characterization of organic-inorganic hybrid materials and biological specimens using XPS and ToF-SIMS with cluster ion beams.
