Lita joined the Higher Education (HE) sector in 1993 following 9 years working across the public and private sector in areas as diverse as the benefits system, financial services and manufacturing. Lita began her career in HE supporting activities which would later be described as “knowledge exchange”. Building relationships and services intrinsically linked to research across Law, Health and Psychology disciplines. This early role illustrated the powerful impact research can have on society and following successful completion of an MA in Marketing Communications she continued to work on a range of projects covering technology transfer, regional development, business engagement, volunteering and public engagement across 3 institutions in Manchester. Lita moved back into a research management focussed role at the University of Manchester in 2004. She has been the Head of Research Services since 2011 and during this time has overseen a restructure of the Research Service structure, led the team responsible for administrative delivery of REF2014 and a range of research information system implementations at Manchester. Lita has previously held an ARMA Directorship and presented at a number of national and international research management conferences.
