Presentation title: Diamond based quantum sensing in living cells and tissues

Romana obtained a PhD in 2009 in chemistry from Vienna university where she also studied biology as a second subject. After that she moved on to do a postdoc at Stanford university and another postdoc in Christian Degen’s group. There she fell in love with NV centers in diamonds. Using these NV centers in biomedical applications has become the interest of her own group which she started in 2014. Among her largest recognitions are an ERC starting grant, a vidi grant or an ERC proof of concept grant(9mln in total). Additionally, Romana is founder of the startup company QTsense. Apart from that Romana is a mom of 4 kids.
