Professor M Moatamedi BSc MSc MBA LLM PhD CEng MASME FRAeS FNucI FIMechE. Professor Moatamedi is the President of The International Society of Multiphysics, as well as the Executive Director of New York University London. Prior to this, he was the President of Al Ghurair University led from his previous position as the Dean of the College of Engineering and Computing at the same institution where he successfully led the ABET accreditations for all college programmes. Previously at Imperial College, Narvik, Cranfield, Salford and Sheffield Universitates, he held senior managerial positions.

During his stay at Imperial College, he was the Technical Manager for the Centre for Nuclear Engineering; in Narvik the Founding Director of High North Technology Centre; at Cranfield the Director of Motorsport Engineering and Management; and at Salford the Director of the Centre for Engineering Materials and the Director of Aerospace Engineering. He is the founder and the President of The International Society of Multiphysics (www.multiphysics.org), the Editor-in-Chief of ‘The International Journal of Multiphysics’ and the Chairman of the associated conferences.

He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE), a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), a Fellow of The Nuclear Institute (NI) and a Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and a Charted Engineer. He served as the Chairman of the Manchester Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society and he has been a member of a number of national and international scientific committees, and advisor to some industrial and governmental bodies including the Office for Nuclear Regulations (ONR), in addition to being the lead person to devise the multiphysics competence standards for the European Union.

He is currently a member of the Council and the Board of Directors of NAFEMS. He served as the Vice Chairman of the Association of Aerospace Universities, and member of the Board of Governors of European Nuclear Education Network and the Vice Chairman of NAFMES Multiphysics Working Group. He is also ABET Program Evaluator and has been a Visiting Professor, Scientist and Senior Research Fellow at a number of institutions including the Universities of Manchester (UK), Tongji (China), Oslo (Norway), Kumamoto (Japan), Strathclyde (UK), King Saud (Saudi Arabia), Chester (UK), Lille (France), as well as the Beijing Institute of Technology (China), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA).
