Mr Dale Towert is the Director of the Research Intelligence unit within the Research Development & Support Division at the University of Johannesburg. The unit focuses on supporting and optimising the national research output assessment exercise, and on quantitative research analysis & applied bibliometrics in pursuit of evidence-based strategic decision support. He is a member of the University Research Committee and holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Information Systems and Postgraduate Diploma in IT Law from UJ, and an MPhil in Science and Technology Studies from the Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science, and Technology (CREST) at Stellenbosch University.
