Talk Title: Biorefinery approach to recover bioactive fractions from food side streams: from processing to human nutrition
Currently, Daniel Granato works as a Professor in Food Science and Health at the Faculty of Science and Engineering – University of Limerick. His research projects are related to the Circular economy in food systems, Chemometrics and Process/Product optimization, development, and bioactivity of functional foods.
He has supervised >120 B.Sc., MBA, M.Sc., PhD candidates, and post-doctoral fellows. Granato is the Scientific Editor of Food Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, and a Senior Editor of Food Chemistry. Granato has published >280 peer-reviewed articles in top-tier journals, 21 book chapters, 6 books, and 6 technological patents and innovation disclosures cited over 16,000 times (hindex=68 and h10index=195). He has been a Highly Cited Researcher since 2018.
