Talk Title: Understanding the diversity of watershed management approaches using blended statistical and deterministic models David Hamilton is the Deputy Director and a Professor at the Australian Rivers Institute, Griffith University, Brisbane. He has held positions in Environmental Engineering at the University of Western Australia and Biological Sciences at the University of Waikato in New Zealand.

He was appointed as the inaugural Bay of Plenty Regional Council Chair in Lake Restoration at the University of Waikato in 2002 and held this position for 15 years. His research is strongly applied, involving testing and modelling of lake restoration actions and documenting the trajectory of recovery of freshwater ecosystems, as well as publishing this work to provide a scientific evidence base. His work has also involved working with freshwater management and policy groups from local to national scale. Hamilton is editor-in-chief of Inland Waters and holds several other editorial positions.
