Professor Gavin Morley leads a research group in the Warwick University Physics Department, building quantum science and technology with nitrogen-vacancy centres in diamond. This focuses on fibre-coupled diamond magnetometry, magnetically levitating microdiamonds, and increasing the coherence times of NV centres in nanodiamonds. Prof Morley is the founding director of Warwick Quantum. He did an undergraduate degree and a PhD in Physics at Oxford University, a postdoc at the National High Magnetic Field Lab in Florida, and then moved back to the UK to hold fellowships from the 1851 Royal Commission and the Royal Society.
