Qin Li

Griffith University, Australia

Prof. Qin Li obtained her BEng, MEng from Zhejiang University, and PhD (Chemical Engineering) from The University of Queensland (2002). She is a Professor at Queensland Micro- and Nanotechnology Centre and School of Engineering and Built Environment, Griffith University. She is the Co-Founding Chair of Green and Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering National Group at Royal Australian Chemical Institute. Her research interests span from carbon dots and nanocarbons, colloids and interfacial engineering, to functional materials, catalysis, and sustainable technologies, addressing critical issues in water, energy and healthcare.

Prof. Li was a Marie Curie Fellow from 2006 – 2008 hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz, Germany. She was the winner of Curtin Innovation Award in 2009, and a finalist of Women in Technology Research Award in 2015 and 2020. Prof. Li has edited two books and co-authored 6 book chapters, over 135 journal papers and 4 international patents, which resulted in an h-index of 52. She is the author of a children’s STEM book (not for profit), ‘Our Mum is a Nanotech Scientist! That’s Rad.’
