Ukraine academic support page FAQs

What’s new

Elsevier is making key research and funding support tools as well as eLearning platforms freely available to Ukrainian academics, researchers and students. We are offering temporary, complimentary access to ScienceDirect, Scopus and Researcher Discovery; we’re also offering article publishing charge (APC) waivers.

Our license explained

Upon registering using the unique registration form link sent to you, you will be redirected to a resource page featuring all necessary information needed to access the tools and resources. You will be granted a free license to use the resources and solutions presented on the resource page.

Only Ukrainian university-level academics and students are eligible for this program. This includes PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. The program is not currently available to non-Ukrainian nationals, corporate groups or non-university level students.

Elsevier cannot currently provide peer review and editing services to authors in Crimea, and the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, since it can only publish “journal/book-ready” works by prospective authors in these jurisdictions.

If you are a Ukrainian clinician or medical student, we have made similar access to our content and tools available here opens in new tab/window. If you are not eligible for this program, we have many other access programs such as Research4Life opens in new tab/window, our Covid-19 Information hub and programs for students and patients.

This is an individual license for your research only. You must keep your password secure, and you may not share it with others. The program does not allow you to access APIs or to bulk download content. We reserve the right to inactivate your account if there is evidence of automated downloading or other illegitimate use.

Elsevier makes no warranties regarding the availability of these resources or solutions or their suitability for any particular purpose.
