Breast Cancer Now
Elsevier and Breast Cancer Now have entered into an agreement which ensures authors publishing in Elsevier journals are compliant with their open access policy.
Agreement
Breast Cancer Now requires electronic copies of any research articles that have been accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal, to be deposited in Europe PubMed Central (Europe PMC) as soon as possible and no later than 12 months after publication. Breast Cancer Now’s policy supports the green open access model, though gold open access remains a compliant option, too. Read the open access policy of Breast Cancer Now here opens in new tab/window.
Authors funded by Breast Cancer Now, and publishing with Elsevier, can comply with the policy in the ways listed below.
Gold open access
Authors can choose to publish gold open access in Elsevier’s open access or hybrid journals
When publishing open access, the corresponding author will be given a choice of two Creative Commons licenses
An article publication charge (APC) is required to be paid in order to make an article open access
Elsevier's APCs range between c$150 and c$9,900 US Dollars excluding tax and are journal specific — please refer to the guide for authors on the journal homepage
Authors can self-archive the final article in Europe PMC
Articles should contain a CrossMark logo, the end user license and a DOI link to the formal publication on ScienceDirect opens in new tab/window — please see our sharing policy for more information on how to do this
Green open access
Authors publishing under the subscription model will need to keep a copy of their accepted manuscript (AM) and self-archive this in Europe PMC
AMs can be made available publicly after the journal specific embargo period opens in new tab/window
Authors should ensure a CC BY-NC-ND license is attached to the accepted manuscript and that there is a link back to the final version of the article hosted on ScienceDirect opens in new tab/window, via its DOI, so their article can be cited
Please see our sharing policy for more information on how to do this
