Dr. Amberyn Thomas
Dr. Amberyn Thomas is Director, Research Environment in the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research) at The University of Queensland. In this role, Amberyn is involved in a range of initiatives across research data governance and management, research evaluation, open research and good research practice. Prior to moving to this position in mid-2024, Amberyn was a Director in The University of Queensland Library, and led the teams involved in the institutional repository UQ eSpace, open access, scholarly communication and publishing, research data management, and research impact and evaluation services. She has been actively involved in every Excellence in Research for Australia and Engagement & Impact submission, and she is an engaged member of the international scholarly communication sector. She has been immersed in the university sector for more than 30 years across a range of areas, and is currently on the arXiv Institutional Advisory Committee.
Amberyn holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons Class I), PhD (field of Physics) and Graduate Certificate in Education (Tertiary).
