Angela Bednarek, Ph.D.

Angela Bednarek, Ph.D., co-founded and leads the Transforming Evidence Funders Network (TEFN) at The Pew Charitable Trusts. TEFN is a collaboration platform for philanthropies and public funders from around the world seeking to close the gap between research and outcomes. The collaborative pilots effective funding practices to support cross-disciplinary, policy-relevant, use-inspired, equity-focused, or partnered research and collectively tackles system-level challenges to supporting such research. She has published and presented widely on improving the connections between research, policy, and practice. She serves on a variety of scientific and public policy advisory committees and boards. Bednarek holds a doctorate in biology from the University of Pennsylvania.
