Dr. Karen Martirosyan is a full Professor of Physics holding Houston Endowed Chair in Science, Math and Technology, Director of Advanced Nanoscience Laboratory, and Associate Vice President for Research Enhancement at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Dr. Martirosyan’s research interests are focusing on the design and fabrication of a novel advanced multifunctional nano-tailored devices and systems for energy, environmental and biomedical applications. The research area covers a broad spectrum of advanced materials, their design, fabrication, characterization and solid-state phenomena. He has been the principal investigator and co-investigator for numerous Federal funded research projects. His work has resulted in more than 150 refereed journal papers, 20 patents and over 160 presentations at national and international conferences.
