Conference speaker
Talk: Surface polymerization : A versatile tool to enable novel insights and functionality in colloidal materials Michael R. Bockstaller received his Diploma in Chemistry from the Technical University of Karlsruhe (Germany) and his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the Johannes Gutenberg University (Mainz, Germany).
He was scientific assistant at the Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research (Mainz, Germany), a postdoctoral associate at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a lecturer at the RWTH Technical University of Aachen (Aachen, Germany). He joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in 2005 and currently holds a position of full professor. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society and the Alexander von Humboldt foundation and serves as Senior Editor at Progress in Polymer Science as well as the director of the AFRL Center of Excellence for Data-Driven Discovery of Multifunctional Material Systems.
