Philippe Lemey is a Professor at the Rega Institute, KU Leuven, specializing in molecular epidemiology, computational biology, and viral evolution. His work focuses on the evolutionary and epidemiological dynamics of viruses, employing advanced phylogenetic and phylodynamic methodologies. Philippe's team has significantly contributed to the development of BEAST software and advanced phylodynamic models. He is the lead author of the second edition of the Phylogenetic Handbook, a two-time ERC grant awardee, and teaches at international workshops and the Master of Bioinformatics program at KU Leuven.
