Dr. Ryuta Kasada is a Professor at the Nuclear Materials Engineering Research Laboratory, Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University.
His group aims to develop structural materials resistant to extreme environments in fusion reactors as well as in advanced fission nuclear power systems.
Current topics in the group focuses on the oxide dispersion strengthened alloys, high-temperature ceramics, and ultra-small testing technologies to evaluate irradiation effects.
He is also an expert of science communication regarding the commercialization of fusion energy and materials.
