Sylvio Barbon Junior is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Trieste (UNITS), Italy. He currently serves as a co-director of the Machine  Learning Lab. Prior to this role, from 2012 to 2021, he led a research group dedicated to the study of machine learning in the Computer Science Department at the State University of Londrina (UEL), Brazil. His research interests encompass Computer Vision,  Pattern Recognition, and Machine Learning, with a current emphasis on Meta-Learning, Stream Mining, and Process Mining, particularly with diverse applications in Food Science Research and Industry.
