Elsevier announced in 2012 that the European Conference on Diamond and Related Materials will now be known as the International Conference on Diamond and Carbon Materials.
The name change recognizes the global diversity of the conference attendees and speakers. The conference committee comprises of an international group of scientists. Also, the conference’s audience consists of a broad range of nationalities, both from academia and industry. It will continue to take place annually and is organized in collaboration with Elsevier’s journal Diamond and Related Materials.
The change also reflects a broadening of the scope of the conference beyond diamond materials. The conference’s scope now reflects new directions in diamond and carbon materials, including new ideas and technologies.
