Robert Cervero is Professor Emeritus of City and Regional Planning and former director of the Institute of Urban and Regional Development at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on the transport/land-use nexus. His most recent book, Beyond Mobility, won the 2019 National Urban Design Best Book Award. He was a contributing author to the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment on Climate Change, UN-Habitat’s Global Report on Sustainable Mobility, and in recent years received the Athena Accolade from KTH University and Distinguished Legacy Award from UC Berkeley’s Institute of Transportation Studies.
