Shmuel (Shmulik) Hayun is a Full Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. His group focuses on developing advanced materials for extreme conditions and studying the thermochemistry and thermophysical properties of multi-component alloys, including high entropy oxides, borides, and others. The Hayun group is particularly passionate about using high-temperature oxidative calorimetry and advanced thermal analysis techniques to measure the thermodynamic properties of advanced multi-component materials. They also explore new composition fields for materials such as high entropy uranium alloys for improved nuclear fuel.
