Professor Aiying Wang received her PhD degree in 2003 from Institute of Materials Research (IMR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China. Then she moved to Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and Korea JNL Tech. Co. Ltd. as a postdoctor and Senior Research Scientist. In 2006, she joined Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (NIMTE), CAS as a full professor and founded the advanced carbon-based films and coating technology research group. Currently, her research interests focus on the synthesis, characterizations and applications of amorphous carbon materials, nanostructured hard coatings as well as MAX phase coatings. In addition, her group’s work involves in the fundamental research of plasma discharges and functional surface modification for variety of substrates like polymers and ceramics used in wearable electronics, new energies and harsh marine environment. She has published over 150 papers in international journals and authorized over 100 patents. She also received many academic awards and outstanding talent supports.
