Dr Alison E. Lloyd is the Associate Provost (Institutional Data and Research) at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, appointed in May 2023. With over 20 years of experience in higher education and management consulting, she has an established record in data analytics and institutional research. In her current role, she is responsible for providing accurate and timely data for reporting, academic planning, benchmarking, and supporting executive decision-making. Concurrently serving as the Risk Officer, Dr Lloyd leads the University's risk management operations, including the identification, analysis, mitigation, and monitoring of risks.

Dr Lloyd previously served as the Associate Vice President (Institutional Research and Strategic Planning) at Hong Kong Baptist University, where she spearheaded evidence-based decision-making using analytics and business intelligence. Prior to that, she spent 14 years at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, holding dual director roles overseeing international affairs and institutional research. During her tenure, she significantly grew and diversified the student body, developed offshore learning opportunities, and established numerous university partnerships.

Before entering academia, Dr Lloyd worked in management consultancy, gaining experience in strategy, business process re-engineering, performance management frameworks, and change management for both private and public sector organizations in the Asia Pacific region. She currently serves in various advisory roles related to higher education, including Chair of the QS Rankings Advisory Board and Vice-President of Higher Education Planners in Asia. Outside of academia, she is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Giordano International Limited (0709: HK) and a Board Director of a social enterprise advocating multicultural education and youth leadership.
