Cristina González-Fernández

Cristina González-Fernández is Head of the Biotechnological Processes Unit and Senior Researcher, IMDEA Energy Institute, Spain (since 2019) and Distinguished Researcher at the University of Valladolid, Spain (2022).

Following the principles of circular economy, her research is focused on the development of biotechnological processes for the conversion of organic matter to bioenergy, biofuels and biochemicals. She is co-author of around 100 scientific publications and reviewer of international journals. She is responsible for the coordination of several European and national funded research projects, as well as projects with private companies. Her scientific career has been completed with teaching duties, involving supervision of undergraduate students willing to pursue the final course project and PhD thesis.
