Dr Anders Karlsson joined Elsevier in 2012 as vice-president of global strategic networks to support the company’s relationships with key stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to joining Elsevier, he was science counsellor at the Swedish Embassy in Japan for five years. He is the Japan Chapter chair of the Japan Chapter for Scientific, Technical and Medical Publisher and a member of the INGSA Asia Steering Committee. He has been a visiting scientist at NTT Basic Research Laboratories, Stanford University, Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, Zhejiang University, and a senior adviser at Osaka University. He has a PhD in electrical engineering and an MSc in engineering physics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and served as a professor of quantum photonics at KTH.
