Conference Speaker
Irina Rogova (she/her) is the Digital Initiatives Librarian at Virginia Commonwealth University. Rogova’s areas of expertise include digitization of archival materials, creating inclusive and anti-racist descriptive metadata, working with students to expand digital collections, and developing community-centered digital archival projects including oral histories. She previously worked as the Digital Resources Archivist at Kansas State University, and as the Project Archivist for the Race & Racism at the University of Richmond Project. Rogova has an MS from Simmons College (now Simmons University), and a BA in Historical Studies from Bard College. She has presented work at regional and national conferences including the Society of American Archivists (SAA), the Annual Meeting and the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) Conference, and is a member of the Abolition in Special Collections subgroup of the Abolitionist Library Association.
