Paloma Engel Garcia, PhD

Paloma heads the Reaxys Product development team with a focus on increasing the content, brining new content types and improving the user search and results visualisation experience on Reaxys. The team has developed state of the art technologies to programmatically excerpt chemistry and medicinal chemistry relevant information from patents and journals into Reaxys in the fastest time. Prior to this role, Paloma led the development and delivery of Reaxys Commercial Substances database, improvements of Author Name searching and linking of Reaxys with other Elsevier solutions like ScienceDirect and Scopus. Paloma earned a doctorate in Organic Synthesis from University of Glasgow with a focus on natural product synthesis. Paloma has published more than 3 papers in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
