Conference speaker
Talk Title: Biodiversity and ecosystem functioning across scales and trophic levels
Dr. Shaopeng Wang received his BSc in statistics from Peking University in 2007 and completed his PhD in ecology from Peking University in 2013. He then conducted postdoctoral research at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig during 2013-2017.
He is currently an assistant professor at the Institute of Ecology and College of Urban and Environmental Sciences at Peking University. His research develops new theory and conducts theory-driven empirical analysis to understand the role of biodiversity in ecosystem functioning and stability in spatial and multitrophic ecosystems. He serves on several editorial boards (including Ecology Letters, Journal of Integrative Plant Biology, etc) and is a member of the Faculty Opinions (former Faculty of 1000). He also serves as the secretary for the Asian Ecology Section of the Ecological Society of America.
