Yan Lu

Yan Lu received her PhD in 2005 in Polymer Chemistry at Dresden University of Technology, Germany. Since 2009, she joined Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien and Energie (HZB) as a group leader in Colloid Chemistry. From 2017 to 2023, she was a professor in Institute of Chemistry at University of Potsdam. Since Oct. 2023, she is professor in theInstitute for Technical Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. She is now the head of Institute for Electrochemical Energy Storage at HZB and co-director of the Helmholtz Institute for Polymers in Energy Applications Jena (HIPOLE Jena). Her research focuses on design and synthesis of colloidal particles with tailored mesoscopic structures and their application as energy storage materials, catalysts and sensors.
