Jose Peralta-Videa

Dr. Jose R. Peralta-Videa is a Research Specialist in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He is Associate Editor of the journal Nanotechnology for Environmental Engineering.

His research interests encompass the study of the environmental implications of nanotechnology with emphasis in terrestrial plants, especially crop plants, and the use of green technologies for environmental remediation. Of major interest is the evaluation of the impact of nanomaterials in plant physiology and nutritional quality of plants exposed to nanomaterials. Additionally, the use of plants for the restoration of heavy metal impacted soils is within his area of interest. He has authored or co-authored 217 journal articles and his metrics in Google Scholar surpass 18,400 citations.
