Fondazione Telethon
Agreement
Elsevier has established a funding body agreement with Fondazione Telethon S’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre to help authors comply with their open access policy S’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre when publishing in Elsevier journals. This policy is mandatory and requires all project leaders and workers to make their peer-reviewed, original (primary) research publications publicly available.
Telethon supports both gold and green open access, however, authors are recommended to comply via the green open access route where their journal supports a six-month embargo period S’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre.
Gold open access
Authors can comply by publishing in one of Elsevier’s fully open access journals or in one of Elsevier’s hybrid journals that support gold open access publishing. This includes journals published by The Lancet and Cell Press.
Elsevier will provide the corresponding author with a choice of two Creative Commons licenses, including the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. The Version of Record of the article will be freely available on the journal’s site immediately upon publication.
A publication fee must be paid to publish an article gold open access. Elsevier's open access publication fees range between c$150 and c$9,900 US Dollars excluding tax and are journal specific. Specific pricing information can be found on the journal homepage and our APC price list S’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre. Authors are able to pay APCs using their Telethon grant.
Upon final publication, Elsevier will immediately send to PubMed Central (PMC) the final published journal article (PJA) as it appears on ScienceDirect. PMC and PMC mirror sites will also link directly to this same article on Elsevier’s websites.
Green open access
Telethon-funded authors can comply by publishing their article under the subscription model and making their accepted manuscript available after the embargo period for their specific journal has expired. Where journals support a six-month embargo period, Telethon recommends authors choose the green open access route. See our list of journal embargo periods S’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre.
Telethon also requires authors to self-archive their accepted manuscript on Europe PubMed Central.
