Foundations and Frontiers in Enzymology

Aim & scope

The Foundations and Frontiers in Enzymology book series provides comprehensive, practical coverage of both core and emerging topics in enzymology. With contributed volumes edited by leading international researchers across academia and industry, this series offers a clear bridge from science to application. Early foundational volumes address structural and functional aspects of enzymology, including enzyme classes, structure, and behaviour as explored with evolving methods. Other volumes offer tailored instruction in enzyme immobilization, assays, kinetics, regulation, and biodegradation; as well as directed evolution of enzymes, crystallographic methods for enzyme analysis, and genetic engineering of enzymes. Application-driven volumes connect foundational research to clinical enzymology, pharmacology, and enzyme engineering for use in food, fuel and chemical, and environmental industries, among others.

Sample cover of Foundations and Frontiers in Enzymology

Volumes feature clear protocols instruction where helpful, along with discussion of common benefits and challenges in implementation. In each subtopic, authors discuss emerging enzyme technologies likely to drive fresh research and new applications, in addition to less common but growing applications.

Audience

Basic and translational researchers in biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, cellular biology, genetics, pathology, chemical biology, pharmaceutical science, and drug discovery; life science researchers; developmental biologists.
