Kaori Sano

Kaori Sano graduated from the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in 2016, where she majored in veterinary medicine. She then pursued her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Hideki Hasegawa at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) and received her PhD degree from the Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine in 2020. In 2021, she joined Dr. Florian Krammer’s lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai as a postdoctoral fellow and worked on research projects focusing on antibodies against influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2. She currently is a senior research scientist at the Influenza Research Center at NIID within the Japan Institute of Health Security (JIHS) and is involved in projects related to mucosal vaccine development and assessing antibody responses induced by viral infections and vaccinations.
