Achieving academic excellence: insights from business schools

For the final episode of our webinar mini-series, The Academic Leader’s Challenge, we were delighted to welcome Marc Salomon, Dean of the University of Amsterdam Business School. On the 10th October 2024, Dean Salomon shared his experience leading the Amsterdam Business School to achieve placement within the Financial Times Top 100 and Top 100 Dallas research rankings, as well as the exclusive “Triple Crown” accreditation for business schools (AACSB, AMBA & EQUIS), and BSIS for Impact. In an interview format, Dean Salomon addressed:

  • How business schools (and other institutions) can prioritize recruitment and retention strategies in pursuit of specific goals

  • The challenges schools must overcome to achieve rankings, accreditations, impact and funding

  • How an institution’s impact can be measured beyond research metrics

To complete the session, Elsevier’s Jason Staples offered insight into the data, tools and systems that can help power the strategies central to achieving academic excellence – at business schools and all academic institutions.

This event happened on Thursday 10th October 2024.
