Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva is Chief of Critical Care Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics – Critical Care at Herbert Wertheim, College of Medicine, Florida International University.

Dr. Sachdeva served in various roles leading quality efforts at the national level as the medical director of Quality Initiatives for the American Academy of Pediatrics; and corporate vice president and chief quality officer for the Children’s Hospital and Health System of Wisconsin. Most recently, he was senior vice president for Strategic Affairs, Regional Strategy and Quality at the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University.

He has participated as the principal investigator on several national grants, including recently leading a large national consortium to develop pediatric quality measures funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Dr. Sachdeva is a practicing physician specializing in pediatric critical care and sleep medicine with an interest in neurocritical care and is a professor of pediatrics focused on critical care medicine.

Dr. Sachdeva has held clinical, executive, and academic roles in other universities and healthcare organizations including Baylor College of Medicine, Medical College of Wisconsin, SUNY Upstate Medical University, American Academy of Pediatrics, and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

Along with his medical degree, Dr. Sachdeva holds two doctorates, a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Texas, along with a DBA in management sciences from the United Kingdom. He also earned a JD degree from Marquette University Law School. He is nationally recognized as a leader in healthcare quality measures and has been on the Best Doctors in America list by U.S. News & World Report since 2005.
