Simanta Buck

Simanta Buck (she/her/hers) is an Executive Publisher for Elsevier's respiratory medicine portfolio, with 18 years of scientific publishing experience. She has been the steward of several society partnerships across multiple disciplines in the last several years, and she also has an operations and management background. In addition, Simanta has a passion for DEI work and is the Inclusion & Diversity Initiatives Lead within the Elsevier journals division. In that role, she collaborates with colleagues to advance several DEI projects, including increasing the diversity of our author, editor, and reviewer communities.

Her family also runs a nonprofit organization working to support access to diverse children’s books in order to promote healthy conversations around race and diversity. Simanta lives in the Boston, Massachusetts, area with her husband and two young children.
