Scopus.com 제품 관리자

I started as an intern at Elsevier and have been with the company my entire six-year career. That may not sound like a very long time, but I have worked in multiple parts of the business, mainly publishing and products. I served as a Product Manager for Researcher Academy, an e-learning tool for Early Career Researchers that helps them learn how to publish. After that, I was the Product Manager for cell.com, the premium journal brand of Elsevier. For the past two years, I have been the Product Manager for scopus.com, focusing on the librarian persona and other fun aspects like platform and content security, privacy, and customer data protection.

I was inspired to join Elsevier because I wanted to work for a company that has research at its heart. Fascinated with the world of academia and science, I wanted to work for a company that helps further knowledge. I joined Scopus right when I was coming into a product management career. I love Scopus as a product; I love what it does, what it offers, and the incredible amount of data it sits on.

My role at Scopus helps organizations understand, manage and strategize on increasing the impact of their research. This means I need to have a keen understanding of the research landscape and can surface any metric that an organization needs to showcase its impact. A big part of this job is making sure the data is clean, accurate and precise. We have a strong data team at Elsevier, whom I work with to ensure we only surface and serve quality data to our users.

One example of this is the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) information on Organization profile pages on Scopus. Via these pages, organizations can monitor how many SDGs their organization has contributed to and which of their research streams is helping advance knowledge on a specific SDG. This directly translates to organizations making better resource allocation and investment decisions for their research activities.

The launch of these pages embodies our company’s commitment to driving meaningful change by empowering researchers to align their work with global sustainability goals, fostering innovation with real-world impact. It also reflects our vision of creating a more informed and responsible research community.

I love that I can truly be myself within Scopus and Elsevier. I do not have a “corporate” identity, I am who I am, and I feel safe being my true self with my colleagues and at work. This means cracking jokes in team meetings, knowing I can learn and make mistakes, and being supported if I am willing to grow. I feel safe in my value, in myself and that helps me stay motivated and deliver the right outcomes.

Outside of work, my interests revolve around reading, travelling and enjoying good food wherever I go. I have a self-proclaimed talent of finding the best food wherever I go and try to rally friends and family to join me! I also enjoy dancing and swimming.

I also launched an initiative called No Straws Attached, which encouraged food and beverage businesses to eliminate plastic straws. We helped them find eco-friendly alternatives while promoting their brand as sustainability-conscious, contributing to the reduction of plastic waste and fostering environmental responsibility.

What excites me most about the future of Elsevier is the opportunity to shape products that not only drive innovation but also prioritize compliance, content security, and user privacy. As a Product Manager with a focus on these areas, I’m enjoy playing a key role in ensuring our solutions remain cutting-edge while building trust with our users, positioning us for sustainable growth and continued success.
