I joined Elsevier around six years ago, starting in Elsevier Corporate Life Science as a Subject Matter Expert and a Technical/API Writer. I was involved in the end-to-end lifecycle development and general release of a new software solution called Knowledge Discovery, testing the product’s market fit for a year. After that, I transitioned to the role of Product Manager for the QUOSA product suite, which consisted of three software solutions: Pharmacovigilance, Literature Management and Knowledge Management.

After four years in the Corporate Life Science division, I moved to Scopus as a Product Manager, where my main responsibility is overseeing the Document Search and Search Migration functions.

Although I was originally inspired to join Elsevier to build a new Knowledge Discovery software solution, I also saw the broader appeal of the company’s approach. I was drawn to the novel idea of having one place where researchers and scientists can fulfil their literature search needs with ease, via federated search of multiple databases, deduplication, analytical insight, and much more.

I see my role at the company contributing to Elsevier’s mission of advancing the research and discovery process, and I really appreciate the open, inclusive and collaborative nature of the company culture. I also value the flexible work-life balance.

I’ve experienced tremendous opportunities for innovation and collaboration while working at Elsevier, including cooperating with the Knowledge Discovery team on Scopus AI. Together, we helped refine the personalization and recommendation features of this exciting new generative AI tool.

Outside of work, I attempt judo and kickboxing when the mood strikes. I also enjoy writing, cycling, painting and creating indie video games and webcomics. I’m also passionate about lending support via donations and volunteering to people – especially children – who are under duress in war-torn or conflict-prone regions.

As I look to the future of Elsevier and the role I play in its continued success and evolution, I am hopeful about helping to make the lives of future researchers easier. And I am excited to advance research in ways that make it more open and accessible for all.
