Publish Open Access
Elsevier and South African universities (SANLiC Consortium) have established an agreement to support authors in South Africa who wish to publish open access.
The cost of publishing open access is covered under the terms of this agreement. When publishing open access in hybrid journals, eligible corresponding authors do not have to pay an article publishing charge (APC). When publishing in fully gold open access journals, authors will receive a discount on the APC.
Find out if the Journal that you want to publish in is a Gold Open Access or Hybrid Open Access Journal using this tool abre em uma nova guia/janela. Authors from eligible South African Universities will not pay to publish their research Open Access in any subscribed Hybrid Open Access Journal. Authors will receive a 15% discount on the article publishing charge associated to Gold Open Access Journals.

As part of Elsevier’s Geographical Pricing Pilot, South African Authors will receive a 55% discount on the article publishing charges associated to any of these 140 Journals abre em uma nova guia/janela.

Accredited training for Librarians
The Scopus Certification Program for Librarians is a six-week online training designed to provide a solid foundation in key functions within Scopus, as well as introduce advanced and related concepts such as APIs and user outreach. The materials you use within the program are designed to assist you with expanding training and consulting options within your library. There is no fee for the certification; however, participation is by invitation only as spaces are limited. Ask your Elsevier representative about opportunities to enroll in an upcoming cohort.

Research Data Management Librarian Academy
The Research Data Management Librarian Academy abre em uma nova guia/janela(RDMLA) is a free online professional development program for librarians, information professionals, and other professionals who work in a research-intensive environment throughout the world. The RDMLA is intended primarily for librarians but is also applicable for researchers. The program consists of eight units, which can be taken in sequence or at the user’s choice separately. Each unit takes an average of an hour to complete and consists of videos, slides, demonstrations, reading resources and self-assessments. The program is geared for the practicing librarian who wants to learn about research data management (RDM) but may be time-crunched and not able to leave work to obtain formal training.
