Dorsal Branches of Posterior Intercostal Arteries (Left)
Rami dorsales arteriae intercostalium posteriorum
Read moreDescription
The dorsal branches of the posterior intercostal arteries arise from their respective posterior intercostal arteries near the necks of their equivalent ribs. They travel with their corresponding posterior rami of the thoracic nerves. Collectively, these arterial branches provide an arterial supply to the structures of the back, including the spinal cord, vertebral column, back muscles, and overlying skin.
