Origin

The dorsal meningeal artery is a small branch arising from the meningohypophyseal trunk, as short trunk arising from the cavernous part of the internal carotid artery.

The dorsal meningeal artery descends on the surface of the clivus (Hendrix et al, 2014).

The dorsal meningeal artery supplies the meninges adjacent to the clivus.
