Gastric Branches of Right Gastroomental Artery
Rami gastrici arteriae gastroomentalis dextrae
Read moreQuick Facts
Origin: Right gastroomental artery.
Course: Ascend to the greater curvature of the stomach, where they pass onto the organ’s anterior and/or posterior surfaces.
Branches: Small anastomoses with similar arteries branching from the arc passing along the lesser curvature of the stomach.
Supplied Structures: Stomach.
Origin
The right gastroomental artery gives rise to several gastric branches as it passes from right to left along the greater curvature of the stomach.
Course
The gastric branches pass superiorly between the layers of peritoneum that form the anterior sheet of the greater omentum. When they reach the greater curvature of the stomach, they pass onto the anterior and posterior surfaces of the stomach.
Branches
The gastric branches form small anastomoses with similar arteries branching from the arterial arc passing along the lesser curvature of the stomach.
Supplied Structures
The gastric branches of the right gastroomental artery supply the inferior aspect of pylorus and inferior parts of antrum and body of stomach adjacent to its greater curvature.
