The lateral orbitofrontal artery (aka frontobasal artery) arises from the superior terminal branch of the middle cerebral artery. It travels antero-inferiorly, along the lateral surface of the cerebral hemisphere, towards its frontal pole.
The lateral frontobasal artery provides an arterial supply to the antero-inferior part of the lateral surface of the frontal lobe.
