Origin

As the ascending uterine artery approaches the ovarian ligament and the uterotubal junction, it gives off an ovarian branch of the uterine artery.

Course

The ovarian branch of the uterine artery travels laterally towards the ovary, where it forms an anastomosis with the ovarian branch of the ovarian artery.

Branches

Several small unnamed branches enter the tissue of the ovary.

Supplied Structures

The ovarian branch of the uterine artery contributes to the ovarian arterial supply. The proportion of the ovary supplied via the uterine artery, compared to the ovarian artery varies between individuals.
