Quick Facts
Origin: Along the right ventricle.
Course: Around the right coronary artery, draining into the right atrium.
Tributaries: Small unnamed veins.
Drainage: Anterior aspect of the right ventricle.
Origin
There are typically between two and five anterior cardiac veins that sit on the right ventricle.
Course
The anterior cardiac veins travel superiorly and follow the ventricular branches of the right coronary artery. They then course over the right coronary artery within the coronary sulcus and drain into the right atrium.
Tributaries
The anterior cardiac veins are formed by the union of small unnamed veins.
Structures Drained
The anterior cardiac veins contribute to the drainage of the anterior aspect of the right ventricle.
