Origin
The frontal tributaries of the superficial temporal vein arise as a plexus of small veins overlying the frontal bone.
Course
The frontal tributaries descend over the temporal region and unites with the parietal tributaries to form the superficial temporal vein.
Tributaries
There are no named tributaries; however, the frontal ramifications may anastomose anteriorly with the supraorbital and supratrochlear veins. Some rami may cross over the vertex to communicate with the corresponding veins of the opposite side.
Structures Drained
The frontal tributaries of the superficial temporal vein drain the muscles and skin of the temporal region.
