Origin
The suprarenal vein is a continuation of the central vein of the suprarenal gland.
Course
The suprarenal vein exits the gland at the hilum. They continue inferiorly and medially. The left suprarenal vein drains into the left renal vein or the inferior phrenic vein. The right renal vein drains directly into the inferior vena cava.
Tributaries
The central vein of the suprarenal gland receives veins from within the substance of the suprarenal gland. These unite to empty into the suprarenal vein.
