Origin

The medial mammary branches originate in the anteromedial aspect of the breast.

Course

As they leave the breast, they perforate the anterior thoracic wall to drain into the internal thoracic vein.

Tributaries

There are no named tributaries of the medial mammary branches.

Structures Drained

The medial mammary branches drain blood from the anteromedial aspect of the breast and from the areolar venous plexus (of Haller) (Dorland, 2011).
